On Friday 24th February, it was my sister Jemima's birthday, who is also coeliac. We decided to go to the Fleur du Jardin in Guernsey as they have a good choice of gluten-free options. I opted for gluten-free fish and chips but with fries instead. (I prefer them to chunky chips, controversial I know!) Overall, the fish was really nice, soft and flaky and the batter was nice and crisp. As far as gluten-free fish and chips go it was really nice and didn't taste gluten-free.

For dessert I went for an ice cream sundae, as there wasn't a great selection of gluten-free desserts. The ice cream sundae was good, but in an ideal world I would have loved a gluten-free brownie but I'm still pleased there was desserts I could eat.

In addition to that, as it was her 18th birthday, we got a gluten-free birthday cake with macaroons on top. The cake was made by Ellie at the cupcake shop (Ellie's Instagram is @thecupcakeshop_gsy). Her cakes are always so moist even though they are gluten-free and they are always beautifully decorated.

Anyways like I said the Fleur have plenty of gluten-free options and helped us host the perfect party for Jemima's 18th. When is your birthday?
